Math problem: if we spay/neuter 2 million dogs a year and breeders sell 10 million dogs a year, how many years will it take to solve the overpopulation problem?

Conventional solutions don’t work!

Spay/Neuter is critically important but unless we stop the flood of intact animals being sold, we will never solve the problem!

1)      Identifying breeders that hide their identities and location is futile.

2)      Enforcement is near impossible.

3)       Backyard breeders don’t pay taxes.

4)       Breeders selling intact animals significantly add to overpopulation.

5)       Laws outlawing or taxing breeders don’t or won’t work.

HERE’S THE FIX:

 

1)      Breeders need to advertise in order to sell. No ads equals no sales.

2)      Require mandatory registration and sales tax numbers to advertise.

3)      Important! In addition to fines on breeders, penalties for sites or publications that accept ads from breeders that aren’t registered and have proper sales tax numbers.

4)      Non compliance is OK! If they don‘t register they can’t advertise or sell.

5)      No registration = no ads.

    No ads = no sales.

    No sales = no profits.

Without profits, the future is bleak for backyard breeders.
