Supply and demand! Until we are able to vastly reduce the SUPPLY: (intake of strays and surrenders), we won’t solve the problem.

DEMAND: Adoptions aren’t enough, rescues can’t pick up enough of the slack to alleviate the overflow resulting in euthanasia.

Backyard Breeding results in the sale of millions of unaltered animals. Without Backyard Breeders, shelter adoptions will dramatically.

Restrictions that eliminate Backyard Breeder advertising in order to eliminate the sale of intact animals:

Taxbreeders.com proposes a law to require a sales tax number and registration to advertise any pet for sale.

Advertising registration would require photo ID, physical location, puppy place of birth and other abuse or fraud prevention data.

Proper detailed registration and corresponding sales tax number checkable through a public database.

Advertisers name address and phone number required in every ad.

Backyard Breeders are notorious scofflaws. The bottom line: they won’t comply. That’s OK!

This proposed law prevents the ACCEPTANCE of ads offering animals for sale in any form, prior to the advertiser having a sales tax number and completing a verifiable detailed registration.

It is critically important to believe that law abiding publications and websites will comply.
